Nestled at the easternmost point of Victoria, Mallacoota is more than a picturesque seaside town. It is a community brimming with resilience, creativity, and a deep-seated love for the place we call home. In the aftermath of the 2019/20 Black Summer bushfires, our town faced unprecedented challenges—from lost homes to the decimation of our primary industries of tourism and abalone.
Yet, from the ashes of adversity, a new vision took root—a vision driven by the unwavering determination of five local women spanning three generations.
The Wilderness Collective was established with a clear mission: to harness the power of innovation and entrepreneurship. By fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity, we aim to create a sustainable, thriving hub where local businesses can flourish, jobs are created, and the economy is revitalised.
Our community space at 56 Maurice Avenue offers a beacon of progress, providing co-working facilities, knowledge programs, and enterprise support. It is a place where ideas and innovation converge, showcasing sustainability and empowering our community to thrive.
